Genesis 10:11
From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah.

This is where Genesis 10:11 speaks directly into your life. Trust isn’t always about dramatic faith. Sometimes it’s about steady obedience in the in-between. It’s about going from one place to the next because God said to go. It’s about building what He’s put in front of you, even when you don’t yet know the full purpose.
Think about a garden in early spring. The ground has been prepared. Seeds have been planted. But nothing visible is happening yet. To an outsider, it might look like nothing is growing. But beneath the surface, roots are forming. Life is stirring. The gardener trusts the process because growth takes time.
That’s what this season might be for you. God is working beneath the surface. He’s establishing something in you and through you that requires patience. The waiting isn’t wasted. The building you’re doing now, the obedience you’re walking out, the faithfulness in the small things, it all matters. Even if you can’t see the city yet, you’re laying the foundation.
Trusting God while His timing is still unfolding means you keep moving forward in obedience even when you don’t have the full map. It means you build what He’s asked you to build, even when you’re not sure how it fits into the bigger picture. It means you go where He leads, one step at a time, without demanding to see the end from the beginning.
God doesn’t waste your waiting. He doesn’t overlook your faithfulness in the quiet seasons. The cities built in Genesis 10:11 became significant places in biblical history. Nineveh, for example, would later become the city where Jonah preached and an entire population repented. What seemed like a simple building project in a genealogy was part of God’s unfolding plan for nations.
You don’t know yet what God is building through your obedience right now. You don’t know how your faithfulness in this season will impact the future. But you can trust that nothing you do in obedience to Him is ever wasted. He sees it. He’s using it. And He will bring it to completion in His perfect timing.
If you’re in a season where you’re waiting for clarity, take heart. Keep building. Keep moving forward in the direction God has shown you. Trust that He is working even when you can’t see the full picture. His timing is unfolding exactly as it should, and your faithfulness in the waiting is not going unnoticed.
