Genesis 12:4
So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.
There’s something profoundly simple about this verse. No fanfare. No dramatic vision. Just movement. Abram had received God’s call, and now he obeys. He goes.
But notice what the verse includes: his age. Seventy-five years old. This isn’t a young man launching into adventure with decades ahead to recover if things go wrong. This is a man well into the second half of life, stepping into the unknown because God said to go.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to know how it’s all going to work. You just need to know that God has spoken, and that He is trustworthy. That’s the foundation Abram stood on, and it’s the same foundation available to you.
There’s also something tender in the detail that Lot went with him. Abram didn’t go alone. Even in obedience, even in uncertainty, God gave him companionship. God doesn’t ask you to walk in isolation. He provides people, presence, and grace for the journey.
