1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Verse of the Day

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

Quiet Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for the mystery and promise of resurrection. When my body and heart feel worn, turn my eyes toward the day You will make me new. Help me live with steady hope, not fear, as I wait for Your trumpet and Your timing. I rest my life and my future in Your gentle, powerful hands.

Devotional Reflection

Paul lets us overhear something holy. He calls it a mystery, not a puzzle to solve, but a reality God has promised that we have not yet fully seen.

You know what it is to live in a body that grows tired, that carries pain or limitation. You may have watched someone you love grow frail, and your heart has wondered what God will do with all this weakness. These verses answer quietly and clearly. We will not stay as we are. We will be changed.

The picture is sudden. In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the trumpet of God, everything mortal will put on what is imperishable. It will be as quick as a light switch flipped in a dark room. One moment there is shadow, the next there is clear and gentle brightness everywhere.

This promise is not an escape from your present life. It is an anchor inside it. You can walk through aging, sickness, or grief knowing that your story is moving toward renewal, not collapse. The God who raised Jesus has already decided your ending. You do not have to understand every detail. You are invited to rest in the One who speaks over you, “You will be changed.”

Quick Next Step

Set aside five quiet minutes and gently list the ways your body or heart feels weak. Then, next to each one, write the words, “God will change this,” and offer that weakness back to Him in hope.
