Verse of the Day
Colossians 1:27
“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Quiet Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are not distant, but present, living in me by Your Spirit. When I feel empty, remind me that You are my treasure and my hope. Help me trust that Your glory is at work even in the hidden and unfinished places of my life. Settle my heart in the quiet confidence that I do not walk alone.
Devotional Reflection
This verse holds a mystery that can feel almost too good to take in. Paul says that the glorious riches of God’s mystery are found in one simple but staggering reality: Christ in you.
Not Christ near you. Not Christ occasionally visiting when you feel strong enough or spiritual enough. Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Think of a simple clay jar on a shelf. On its own, it is ordinary and fragile. Yet if someone places a diamond inside, the worth of that plain jar changes completely, not because the jar has become impressive, but because of what it holds.
You may feel very much like that clay jar, chipped by years of caregiving, work, loss, or quiet disappointments. You may not feel glorious at all. Still, if you belong to Jesus, He has chosen to dwell within you. His presence is your steady hope that your story is moving toward glory, not because you are strong, but because He is faithful.
You can rest in this: wherever you go, whatever weighs on your heart, Christ in you is enough.
Quick Next Step
Take a small card or note and write, “Christ in me, the hope of glory,” then place it where you will see it often, letting it gently reorient your thoughts toward His presence with you.
