Laws – they are created with good intentions – SOMETIMES – other times they are created to address a problem and the law is meant to fix it. NJ where I live has a couple strange and funny ones…One is known as Basckseat Driver Prohibition – this law says its illegal for a front seat or back seaat passengar to interfere with a driver’s operation of their vehicle. I have reported this on Cissy many times but to date – no conviction. Another one is found in Clifton NJ – this one is crazy – It strictly forbids anyone walking backwards while eating peanuts on the sidewalk or public streets during community events or parades. So my suggestion is stick with the cotton candy. Jesus once was teaching to a crowd and and he used 2 quick laws to help us understand something important – He addressed the law that says Do not commit murder – if you do – you bring immediate judgement – but he went on to say to the crowd that everyone who is angry with someone. will be liable to judgement – OUCH – He didn’t stop there – He said another law they were familiar with – Don’t commit adultery – pretty straightforward – but then Jesus takes it to next leverl and says anyone who looks at a woman lustfully or with lustful intent – is already GUILTY. Interesting – what is God saying here – Jesus isn’t some politician re-writing a law – NO – He is helping them that day and us see and undersatnd the original intent of the law. God’s law was given and has alwasy meant to address and expose one thing – OUR HEART. Don’t miss this – Sin is always a matter of the heart. Its not just bad behavior that if we teach someone these 3 principles than that behavior is fixed and problem solved.

Its not just because we live in this world and crazy culture that we sin. My kid tells me all the time – Dad – your generation doesn’t understand – I hear adults and other parents make excuses saying well little johnny or susie have to grow up with things we didn’t have to deal with – things like phones, social media, internet, AI, vapes, and the list goes on and on. Yes – that is true but one thing has alwasy stayed the same and will always stay the same….Everyone of us is born with and survive because of our HEART – Jesus was saying if i have hatred WHERE – in my heart – than that is what causes me to do or want to do harm to my brother. Jesus said if I had lusfful desires WHERE – in my HEART – that is what leads me to do commit sexual sin. There aren’t enough laws we can ever write to legislate morality – you know why – the issue isn’t behavior or environment – its the heart – Its why the Proverbs teaches that we are to what – GUARD OUR HEART – its why Paul said in Romans when he asked the question – Are we better than they???? NO!!! – we all have sinned – we all have rotten HEARTS – Out of heart flows everything – Praise God that when I trusted Jesus – He gave me a new heart – replaced that old one with a new one BUT – everyday I choose what to expose that heart to – what I let invade it – how I treat it. Its like the guy who gets the heart transplant but instead of getting a new lease on life and doing what the Dr says – He or she ignores it and lives anyway they want – not going to end well is it? So – How is your heart? Laws just expose it – only God can change it or cleanse it. I choose the latter today. BE ENCOURAGED!
