Verse of the Day
Romans 8:11
“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.”
Quiet Prayer
Father, I thank You that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in me. I often feel the limits of my body and my strength, yet You promise life. Breathe Your quiet courage into the places in me that feel tired, fearful, or worn down. Teach me to rest in Your presence and receive the life Your Spirit gives.
Devotional Reflection
Paul does not speak here about a vague spiritual feeling. He speaks about a Person, the Spirit of God, living in you.
The Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is not distant. He is present in the middle of your aching back, your sleepless nights, your appointments, and your quiet worries about the future. Your body may feel fragile, yet God calls it the very place where His Spirit lives.
Think of a house that has known many years of storms. The paint may peel, and the steps may creak, yet a warm light still shines from the windows. The strength of that home is not in perfect walls; it is in the life within.
In the same way, your hope is not in having a flawless body or unending energy. Your hope is that the Spirit who raised Jesus will also give life to your mortal body. Some of that life you taste now in comfort, endurance, and quiet joy in Christ. One day, you will know it fully in resurrection, when every weakness is finally healed.
For now, you are invited to walk through each ordinary moment aware that resurrection power is already at work in you.
Quick Next Step
Take a slow, deep breath three times, and with each breath, quietly tell God where your body feels weak, then thank the Holy Spirit for living in you there.
